A seal? I don’t think so!

Most of us know about the legendary Loch Ness monster. But, are we aware that there are also other/lake monsters reported?
This is the Lake Champlain monster. A video of approximately two minutes was also taken on 31 May 2009.
It appears to move both horizontally and vertically in the water.
One suggestion is that the creature is an unknown species of seal with an unusually long neck. WTF?
Does that look like a seal to you?
What I would like to know is:
Does it have any similarities to the Loch Ness monster?
Nessie is thought to be a relative of the plesiosaurs.

No, this does not look like a seal. Have not seen the video in a long time, but the image you share looks like some sort of flipper.

There probably some aspects of it that share similarities to other creatures but to liken it to one animal is ludicrous
Depending on how you see things, Nessie could be a seal as well. Unusually long neck, extended spine and tail. Heck, maybe a certain species of seal have oars instead of paddle-like flippers.
Come to think about it, couldn’t a Yeti be a rare species of seal too? Both are mammals and although no one has ever seen a Yeti in the water, that doesn’t mean they don’t flourish there.
It’s our nature to explain away what we don’t understand by defining it with something we DO understand. And because of this, I think we miss out on what could be some great discoveries.
Sure, some put forth great effort to find these creatures, but imagine how much more the efforts could be enhanced if the majority of the race weren’t so quick to balk at the notion there nay be large creatures that live on the edge of what we call monsters.

In other words, until we know more about what we see (or think we see) we should refrain from making assumptions
