Seriously, why would you want to do this?

“The discovery of a strange creature in Cerro Azul, Panama, sparked controversy among the people, for what some say might be a creature from another planet, others simply believe that it is just an animal.“
You find something unusual; something that could answer a few questions and provide vital research about new and interesting creatures.
So, what is your first thought?
To stone it to death.
But would this be your first thought?
Would you want to do that to something that is new and unique?
Yes, it could provide vital information to science dead. But, surely, it could provide more if it was left alive?
So, you don’t understand what it is; you don’t know how it could react to you; you have no idea just how many others like it are in the area.
Perhaps it did attack you. It’s scared; it’s only defending itself and, possibly, its offspring.
Wouldn’t it be so much better to record where it was found, make an image and discover more about it before even contemplating a drastic action?
Wouldn’t it be better to discover how it lived, how it evolved and how it survived?
Would it be difficult to think this way if confronted by a strange and unusual creature or would your initial thoughts be to run?
So, what would you do if you found an unusual creature?
Would you run, attack it or photograph it?

I learned a long time ago I was too old to run away, and I believe I am a Buddhist in the making, so that only leaves photography.
We can only gain speculation when we study the dead, but we gather facts when observe the living.
Great post!

I’m less afraid of animals than people so I’m sure I would stupidly try to pet the dang thing. I never kill animals.
